Courteney Lowe, New Zealand’s former national road race champion, will ride for Happy Tooth in 2016. The team is merging of Courteney’s former team Pepper Palace Pro Cycling and BMW Happy Tooth and will enable her to continue racing on the professional circuit in America.
24 year old Courteney Lowe spent last season racing for Pepper Palace Pro Cycling, but this year she will join a new outfit that will see the 2013 national road race champion join a team that is very much development focused. Speaking to Cycling Tips, new Director Sportif of the team – Robin Farina – said, “I am thrilled about what 2016 will have in store for our new team.”
The team is based out of North Carolina and has a primary focus on racing and interacting with their community. Courteney joining them will see her combine with teammates that include Laura Jorgensen, Christina Gokey-Smith and Jannalyn Luttrell.
Courteney’s latest outing was at the REV Classic, where in the women’s race she finished third behind Amelia Rose Watkinson and Rebecca Kingsford. With her form building we wish her all the best in the preparation for the trip abroad.
The 2016 season will get underway for Happy Tooth at the Redlands Bicycle Classic from April 6th-10th.
