Shane Archbold’s road career marches on in the colours of Evo Pro in 2019.  The Flying Mullet has joined the team alongside Kiwis Aaron Gate and Luke Mudgway, after a cut-short season with Aqua Blue Sport.

2018 was the year of return for Shane Archbold.  The year prior he was with BORA-Hansgrohe and without a race to his name until 13th September as he looked to recover fully from the injuries sustained in his Tour de France crash in 2016!  His rocky road to recovery saw Archbold make his way back from a broken pelvis and line up almost a dozen more times that season, but the bulging discs in his back proceeded to plague him for almost the entire 2017 season; although he did find his way back to fitness in time to produce a top ten finish in Coppa Bernocchi.

2018 has seen Archbold build on the tail end of yesteryear with 5 top ten finishes to his name at the Tour of Denmark, Tour of Austria, Tour of Norway, Commonwealth Games and Grand Prix de Denain – Porte du Hainaut.  The year has also seen a return to the track, with Archbold and Gate tackling the London Six Day before heading to the latest round of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup in London this weekend.  There Archbold and Gate finished 10th in the Madison – won by Denmark – in a very high intensity race.

Archbold is one of 14 riders representing 9 different nationalities who will be taking to the start of the 2019 season in the colours of Evo Pro.  With one rider announcement remaining the current roster is:

Harry Sweeny – AUS

Matthew Teggart – IRE

Daniel Whitehouse – GBR
Daire Feely – IRE

Albert Muela Galvez – ESP

Cormac McGeough – IRE
