Passoni I live to ride - I ride Passoni 2010

thumb_topevolutionSep 16th, 09. Italian bike manufacturer Passoni is all about passion, precision and personalisation. Their 2010 range lives up to all expectations.

xxtirearDavide Pescarolo of Italiatech Limited, the New Zealand distributor of Passoni, had a small booth at one end of the Ausbike pavilion in Melbourne last month.

Unlike others, his booth wasn't flashy and he wasn't giving away freebies. He didn't need to. He let the beauty of the Passoni speak for itself.

"Passoni only produce 350-400 frames per year and they don't want to grow in number of production, this is their approach, like a personalised Aston Martin," Pescarolo told RoadCycling.co.nz.

"Passoni create high end titanium frames with a very long history on their shoulders," he said.

They have some prestigious reference customers, amongst them the Agnelli Family, owner of Fiat Automobiles, who keep their Passoni bikes in their family museum.

"Other politicians and businessmen keep their Passonis in their office," said Pescarolo. "Because this is their passion. It is a bike for their grandsons, or heiress, this is Passoni."

Just like Pescarolo, Passoni is all Italian. Each Passoni frame is custom made for each owner, made with top materials and hand finished in accordance with the most exclusive Italian artisan tradition.

Passoni develop each custom frame after extensive measurement and assessment of the new owner. They not only measure physical features and run postural tests, they go riding with the customer before creating their custom frame. Now that's a great bike buying experience!

Aesthetically, Passoni mix style with the most advanced technology to give their bikes what Pescarolo calls "a strong Italian peculiarity".

Overview of the Passoni 2010 range

The 2010 Passoni range features a number of new innovations including prewiring for Dura-Ace Di2 and the addition of electronic identification microchips for ownership verification, guarantee and maintenance.

Carbon - Titanium XXTi

The XXTi model, a mix of traditional titanium and carbon technology is available in a range of colour options.   It's the joining of these two materials that create a unique frame with elegance and originality.
