Total POS Solutions is the largest specialised point of sale provider in the South Island. They are locally owned and locally based and focus on all aspects of Point of Sale equipment. They have been keen supporters of Cycling in the South Island for a number of years and compete in the Benchmark Elite Series. Martin Ross, company owner and team manager says “We are very keen cyclists ourselves and we feel this is a great way to support our brand while developing some great young talent”.

Ross is excited about the race, “The Tour of Southland remains the toughest race in New Zealand and we are keen to mix it up with some of the more experienced teams. We have been going well at the Benchmark Series with podium results at the Oxford and Nelson rounds and the Team taking out the Team’s Classification in the Nelson as well as second overall in the U/23 series and a top 5 placing in the Elite series”.

The Total POS Solutions Team will bring a solid line-up to the race with a mixture of youth and experience. Daniel and Callum are top level riders in New Zealand and bring a lot of knowledge to the team.  Daniel will line up for the team after a successful season with UK-based Continental Team Rapha Condor JLT. He has raced some major races across the year including the Tours of Azerbaijan and Japan, and the USA Pro Challenge and is looking to build on that in Southland this year.  Callum has had a solid year including taking the KOM jersey at the Powerco Tour of Taranaki and second placings at the Club Nationals and TA Open events.  Callum will be looking to improve on his good performance at last year’s Tour of Southland and will focus on the stages with hill-top finishes.

There are some strong support riders in the line-up with Nick Bain returning from racing the season in Belgium and Joshua Aldridge fresh off the NRS Series in Australia.  Also included in the squad are current team members Brodie Catterick and Nick Ross.

Ross says, “In our line-up we have a good mixture of guys suited for the hills and a super talented guy like Nick Bain who can go into breaks or work to set our GC guys up. We will take each day as it comes but I’m sure we can mix it up with the big teams.  In addition we have a full support team of seven including masseurs and mechanics to make sure our riders and their bikes are in peak condition throughout what will be a tough week.”
