Rotorua Racing have announced their line up to take on the New Zealand Cycle Classic 2018. The team, which is described as having an ‘international feel’ for the Classic, will feature two regulars in the line up as well as a number of riders from New Zealand, Australia and Europe.
The next edition of the New Zealand Cycle Classic is coming up thick and fast with stage 1 of the Cycle Classic taking place on 17th January and taking the field through to the finale on Sunday 21st January. Rotorua Racing will be at the start line in Masterton for the opening 122.5km stage, with Masterton being very much the focal point throughout the tour, barring a couple of different venues for stage finishes in Martinborough and Admiral Hill.
Riding for the squad will be Rotorua Racing regulars Cosmo Bloor and Daniel Busbridge who will be accompanied by a very international field. The only fellow Kiwi will be South Islander William Findlay, who comes from the Tour of Southland. Also riding alongside them will be U23 Danish rider Mathias Mortensen, Queensland U23 champion Leighton Taylor and Swiss track rider Loic Perizzolo.
Rotorua Racing will go up against a field that at this stage will include international talent such as JLT-Condor the UCI Continental outfit from the UK, as well as the Swiss National Pursuit Team with plenty more teams to be announced in the coming weeks.
