Ollie Jones became an international success story last week when he was selected out of some 9,200 riders to race for Dimension Data for Qhubeka in 2018.  We had the pleasure of catching up with Ollie to talk about the massive achievement.

Forget trying to find a needle in a haystack, Dimension Data were looking for a needle in a whole bunch of needles!  Their innovation in utilising the ZWIFT training tool saw thousands of riders able to take on the task of putting themselves forward with the promise of a contract with the team for 2018 on the horizon.  The odds spoke for themselves, riders were up against 1 in 9,200 chance of a dream job.  But it was Ollie Jones who came through to secure that once in a lifetime opportunity.

We caught up with Ollie to talk about the process, the tasks that he and the other riders were up against and of course the trip to South Africa that finally secured the position.  He’s hung out with the likes of Cummings, Boasson Hagen, Cav, Eisel and co, and now he’s in the development team that feeds into their midst.

Catch up with our interview with Ollie here.
