Luke Mudgway has signed with Evo Pro in 2019. The New Zealander enjoyed one of his most successful road campaigns of his career in 2018 with H&R Block Pro Cycling as he got to grips with the American scene, but next year sees Luke approach a much more international calendar year.
2018 was a year that gave Luke cause to smile, particularly in July where he produced one of the most impressive performances of his road racing career to date. With no team support, Luke lined up on his own against teams of other riders; and went on to win the Tour of America’s Dairyland in comprehensive fashion. Luke also recorded top ten results at the New Zealand Cycle Classic, the Joe Martin Stage Race, and Tour of China I and II.
It’s been a big year for the 22 year old, who transitioned from a successful career on track to full-time road, and it’s been a successful one; and next year it will take on a new level with a much more European-oriented campaign. The Evo Pro team is a very eclectic group of riders, 14 strong in all, and consists of nine nationalities including Harry Sweeny of Australia, Matthew Teggart of Ireland and Daniel Whitehouse of Great Britain.
Racing is expected to kick off for Evo Pro at the New Zealand Cycle Classic, from the 23rd-27th January. Also rumoured to be featuring on the calendar in 2019 is racing in France, Belgium, Italy, Croatia and Turkey amongst others for the team registered in Ireland.
Luke Mudgway is the 8th of 14 riders to be announced for Evo Pro. The rest of the line up will be announced in the coming days but so far consists of:
Harry Sweeny – AUST
Matthew Teggart – IRE
Daniel Whitehouse – GBR
