It’s been a very strong year for Sharlotte Lucas in 2018 with multiple accolades going her way. After taking the silver medal in the women’s road race at the National Road Championships in Napier at the beginning of the year, Lucas went on to take the win in the Oceania Road Race Championships and take bronze in the time trial. A late call up to the Commonwealth Games team proved a great asset as Lucas took fourth behind teammate and silver medallist Georgia Williams.
TIBCO-SVB has been the home of Kiwis in the past, with Joanne Kiesanowski being a stalwart in the squad from 2008 to 2016 and Rushlee Buchanan being a part of the outfit in 2013 before moving to UnitedHealthcare.
Lucas will be one of three Oceania riders on the team alongside Brodie Chapma and Shannon Malseed.
Lucas is the second new addition to the World Tour from New Zealand, joining Mikayla Harvey who signed with Cervelo-Bigla in 2019.
