Hamish Bond will line up for New Zealand in the UCI World Road Championships later this month, and he’s shown brilliant form in the run up to the championships, with third place in Chrono Champenois Masculin International.

Located just outside Reims, 160km east of Paris, the Chrono Champenois Masculin International took in 33.4km of racing.  The course itself was largely flat, with a short climb peaking with 21.6km covered and then making way for a gradual downhill to the finish.

The race win went to Martin Toft Madsen of BHS – Almeborg who took the win in 39.32mins, with Mikkel Bjerg of Hagens Berman Axeon in second place.

Hamish Bond’s time of 40.05mins saw him hit an average speed of 49.996kph to take third place ahead of Mathias Norsgaard.
