Finn Fisher-Black has signed for the WWV Junioren Team.  The U19 individual pursuit world record holder has joined the outfit that races across Europe, and will likely use the opportunity to vie for a place in the New Zealand World Road Championship squad heading to Yorkshire later in the year.

After breaking the individual pursuit world record in Cambridge, Finn Fisher-Black announced his intent to line up for the Oceania Road Championships and state his case for selection at the upcoming UCI World Road Championships.  This year they’ll be held in Yorkshire from 22nd-29th September and the region’s famously hilly roads will be a great challenge and spectacle for riders and fans.

At the Oceania Championships Fisher-Black was in scintillating form, winning the individual time trial by 28 seconds and then soloing to the road race crown the following day.  It’s performances like this that have gained the attention of WWV Junioren.

The outfit are prominent on the European circuit, racing around France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic in recent weeks.  They’re a team who are regulars at some of the biggest UCI Junior races on the calendar, with Joris Kroon taking fifth place in EPX Omloop van Borsele.  At the 2-day Tour de l’Eure Thomas Mijnsbergen won the opening stage and Olav Kooij the closing one as the team took 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th overall.

More to come . . .
