The second edition of the Abel Tasman Cycle Challenge is ready to hit the roads of the upper South Island.  The first edition of the race saw Hamish Bond take the win in style, going on a long range breakaway effort away from a field that included Vuelta a Espana top ten finisher George Bennett.

This year’s race has four road categories on offer from 13km to 47km, 73km and the main event; the 155km.  The event takes in view of the beautiful Abel Tasman and its surrounding Mountain Ranges, National Parks, Tidal Estuaries and Golden Sand Beaches to name a few.

The race starts and finishes in Richmond, with the toughest climb being the 10.7% ascent of Marahau Hill.
