Mikayla Harvey has had a very busy European campaign, while Deborah Paine’s season has been largely Oceania-America-focussed. After the national championships, Paine took on the Gravel and Tar La Femme before heading to Australia for the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and Women’s Herald Sun Tour.
From there it was all about racing in the States and Canada, where among her best results was an 8th place at the Winston Salem Cycling, where Paine also picked up the QOM classification.
The team will be an interesting one to watch in terms of what they will pursue over the ten days of racing. Cyprus road and time trial national champion, Antri Christoforou will line up for the Giro Rosa with three wins under her belt, alongside Russian national time trial champion Anastasiia Pliaskina. Edwige Pitel was strong at the Tour of the Gila, but it will be interesting to see how the Cogeas-Mettler team respond to racing on the European continent, given that so much of their season has been done on the other side of the Atlantic.
