Open letter from Dan Waluszewski
As of this morning NZ Trade Team Mico Protrain has come to an end.
To Richard Aitken and Steven Elden, the two directors of Mico Protrain, on behalf of all the riders thank you for all the time and money you have invested into the team to give all of us the best chance at achieving success - not only as individuals but as a team.
Whilst the journey has had its highs and lows, filled with the success, disappointment, good and bad luck that all come with the sport of road cycling, it would be fair to say we have all had a blast along the way.
To all of the supporters, friends and family of the riders on the team, thank you for all the support you have given the team over the past four years. Your support has been greatly appreciated and I hope you too have enjoyed the emotional roller-coaster as much as the riders and management staff.
To all the sponsors who have invested their money into the team, thank you. Although our partnership has come to an end, your help and support over the years will not be forgotten and we applaud you for your efforts.
To the media, thank you for showing an interest in the team throughout the four seasons. We have had some interesting times and I am sure we can say it was an enjoyable experience for both the team and you along the way.
To BikeNZ, thank you for all your support and for recognising the efforts of our riders and management staff.
Last of all, thank you to all the riders who have lined up with a Mico-Protrain jersey at races throughout NZ. We have all had a great time racing together as a team and having post-race BBQ's and sessions on the vino with the bikes packed away.
I wish you all the best in future success both on and off the bike and look forward to catching up with you all in the not so distant future.
Whilst the Mico Protrain journey has come to an end we will not be forgotten, look forward to seeing you all in the peloton soon.
