With a season's racing across California, Utah, Portugal, Spain, Mexico, Columbia and Belgium it's no wonder Chadwick tells RoadCycling.co.nz he doesn't have a set home base.

Chadwick has had many successes this season, some personal podiums and leaders jerseys, plus plenty of great team results.

The kiwi has played an integral part in his team Rock Racing's success in 2009.  When Chadwick is in a tour, expect him to out the front in a breakaway working for his teammates in at least one stage. And if he doesn't get the call to wait up for his team leader - watch out, he'll sneak away for the win himself.

Next races / goals before the end of the international season ...
I've got 6 one dayers in Belgium through September (Ouch) then I head to Mexico for the Vuelta Chihuahua and a crit in Cancun, then I head to Southland, so as guys are winding down for the season I've still got 20 days of racing left!

Best ride/result of the season?
I'm pretty happy with my whole year, but I guess winning in Asturias and Colombia was pretty sweet ... I've won big races in the 5 continents I've raced in now so I think that's pretty cool also.

Best experience (on or off the bike)?
My whole year with Rock has been the best experience, especially with my teammates. There have been 5 of us (Paco, Oscar, Guti, Victor and myself) that have done most of the travelling and racing together so we've got some kinda band of brothers thing rolling.

Were you happy with your 2009 International season?
Yeah I was really pleased how it turned out. We got a lot of results all over the place.

When are you back in NZ (or Aus?) - where is your down under home?
I'll be back in NZ for a few weeks in November , basically for the Tour of Southland. I'll try at some point to pop back to Australia to see my family. I don't really have a home these days,  I'm more of a nomad (but actually I prefer - Pirate).

Are you planning on riding any of the NZ summer races?

I'll be back for Southland and at the moment I'll be back for sure in January for Nationals.  Somewhere between them I need a beach and an island though!

Main goal for the summer season?
I won't set any goals just yet but I guess for sure doing well at the Nationals will always be No.1. I'll just have to see how the training goes.
