Sep 14th, 11. The final New Zealand team for next week's UCI Road World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark was announced today.

Julian Dean, Greg Henderson and Jack Bauer will face off against the rest of the world's best in the 266km road race on September 25th.

Bauer will also be in action a few days earlier when he contests the time trial event along with Jesse Sergent who has had a brilliant first year in the pro-ranks with three time trial and two tour victories.

Last year, at the World Championships in Australia, New Zealand fielded a team of six women in the road race. This year, Linda Villumsen is the only Kiwi racing.

She will race the road race and her specailist time trial event - she won a TT medal in the previous two World Championships.

George Bennett, another rider who has had a stand-out season, is racing the U23 168km road race on September 23rd along with Jason Christie, Tom David and James WIlliamson.

Christie, the NZ U23 Time Trial Champion, is one of the first Kiwis to race in the World Championships. He told RoadCycling.co.nz he 'can't wait' for Monday's time trial event.

In a break from recent tradition, the U19 Junior World Championship events are racing alongside the senior events this year.
