No WorldTour status yet for four Kiwis' teams

uciNov 22nd, 11. Two teams with four Kiwi signings between them have yet to be granted UCI WorldTour status for 2012, the UCI announced in an update today.

The UCI today gave an update on teams' licences and while Greg Henderson's team Lotto Bodisol was added to the teams previously announced as registered for the 2012 WorldTour, RadioShack Nissan Trek (Jesse Sergent, Hayden Roulston, George Bennett) and GreenEdge (Julian Dean) were not.

"The decisions concerning the GreenEDGE Cycling and RadioShack Nissan teams will be announced later – the Commission is currently waiting for the teams to provide additional documents," the statement said.

As it stands, 16 teams will take part in the UCI WorldTour 2012. In accordance with UCI regulations, a maximum of 18 UCI ProTeams may take part in the UCI WorldTour.

Clinton Avery's team Champion System has to wait a little longer to hear if they have been registered as a Pro Continental team. 2012 Pro Continenal teams wil be announced on December 12th.
