Only a few days after telling RoadCycling NZ, "Breaks are never fun, they can be a real slog, but I'm always looking for a way to get up the road and sometimes I can pull it off at some point" Chadwick did pull it off.

"After the interview I thought shit I'm a break away specialist?" Chadwick told RoadCycling NZ after today's win, "So off I went again, I guess eventually one would stick and I'd be able to finish it off properly for the team"

Chadwick says it's his biggest win in Europe by far, "It was pretty good feeling to be a the top of the podium". The race is classified UCI 2.1 so it has a lot of good teams and coverage for his Rock Racing Team Chadwick explained.

Going into the second stage Chadwick and his breakaway companion Tiago Machado (Madeinox Boavista) have a healthy 3m3s lead on the rest of the 115 strong field.

The Vuelta Asturias continues till May 2nd.
