Time Trial Bikes at Ausbike

thumb_fujid6ttAug 28th, 09. Ausbike delivered beyond expectations with such a full range of products from almost every brand on the planet.  The Time Trial bikes were no exception.

While Ausbike appeared to focus on road bikes and their peripherals there were still quite a number of unique time trial bikes on display.  Many of these 2010 models aren't available in New Zealand yet, but I am sure you will agree, the sooner they get here the better.

The team from RoadCycling.co.nz investigated the TT bikes on display and present you a quick snapshot of our favourites.

Ben Christian's pick of the bunch was the batman inspired Ceepo Viper.  While this model is designed for Ironman, Tim Gado Australian Distributor of Ceepo assured us the new model will be UCI compatible, and ready for Time trials.  It will be interesting to see how this unique design is intregrated into the UCI rules.

Shimano Di2 Electronic Shifting

Shimano had their new electronic battery powered groupset on display.  Ben from RoadCycling.co.nz took the Time Trial setup with Di2 for a spin on the trainer to get a feel for how it worked.  It doesn't take long to realise that this will be a significant benefit to any time trialist wishing to maintain their position and change gears literally at the push of the button.
