One brand that does have their marketing on target is Sidi. I enjoy getting their emails, they are always relevant, timely and they have pictures - we like pictures.

Genius 6.6 Carbon special edition for the Spanish champion
Alberto Contador (Team Astana) is king of the 96th edition of the Tour de France. With him on the podium in Paris the inseparable Sidi Genius 6.6 Carbon shoes, the top of the line model in Sidi's road collection.
Thus Italy makes it to the highest step on the podium, with the "Made in Italy" quality of Sidi Sport shoes, designed and developed at Sidi headquarters in Maser (Treviso). Rounding out Sidi Sport's success in the Grande Boucle, Franco Pellizotti (Team Liquigas) took the polka dot jersey for the best climber by coming in consistently first on all the most prestigious climbs in the 2009 Tour.
In addition to the Paris podium and Alberto Contador's two stage victories, Sidi also shone on the Pyrenees with the brilliant Frenchman Brice Feillu (Agritubel), who came in first after a long breakaway at the top of the Andorra-Arcalis climb. These important results have taken Sidi Sport beyond the threshold of 60 season victories.
