Campagnolo Record Carbon Crank

Record CranksetCampagnolo make some very beautiful components, and the Record Carbon Crankset is certainly that. This is not the new 2007 Ultratorque set because I dont own that yet, but rather the 2006 model.

I just thought I would put up a couple of pictures because I like them so much. Really the pictures speak for themselves. These are very attractive looking creations that make any bike look fantastic.

I am in no position to comment on the performance of these cranks, but to say that they seem as stiff as they need to be. By keeping the chainring bolts tight they perform well and dont make any noises whatsoever.

To protect my cranks from shoe scuffing which I feared may rub off the branding, I applied some thin 3M film. You cant even notice it which is the great bit and it minimizes any chance of scratching the crank.

I have been using the Polar Power kit recently and these cranks are thick enough at the pedal thread to enable the locating of a magnet on the rear of the crank arm. This was the only way I could align the Polar sensor with the crank to get the Power Kit Cadence working correctly. Its such an elegant way to do it I decided after seeing others with awful plastic zipp ties holding magnets around the crank.

A few of my friends have moved to the new 2007 model which I will do sometime soon. In the meantime I will keep on riding these little beauties.
