Mavic R-SYS Wheel Safety Recall Announcement

r-sys product recallMavic has announced a voluntary recall of its R-SYS front wheels as a precautionary safety measure. Mavic have identified that the carbon tubular spokes of the R-SYS front wheel may break during use in certain circumstances and causing the rider to lose control and possibly fall, potentially sustaining injury.

 
Mavic Cosmic Carbone Review
scottcr1_sml.jpgDon’t Mavic make great wheels! The race wheels I use on my Scott Addict R1 are a set of 2006 Mavic Cosmic Carbones.

These wheels came out with bright yellow stickers which at the time matched my CR-1 Team. Since upgrading to the stealth black looking R1 I have replaced the stickers with a set of silver replacements.
